Aeolian Islands launch “We Welcome the World” (15–17 May 2026)

From 15 to 17 May 2026 the Aeolian Islands will host an international initiative titled “We Welcome the World. Identity, memory and flavours: the Aeolian Islands reveal their universal heritage”. The programme, spread across Lipari, Salina and Vulcano, is designed to highlight the archipelago's UNESCO status and increase its global visibility.

The project is a coordinated effort to present the area's cultural, landscape and gastronomic uniqueness, with the aim of fostering experiential and less seasonal tourism.

Programme highlights

• Participants: press delegations including about 18 international journalists and 15 national journalists, plus TV reporters;
