For Milano Art Week 2026, the Galleria d’Arte Moderna (GAM) presents Parnassus, a site‑specific installation by LETIA (artist name of Letizia Cariello) that turns the historic Sala del Parnaso into a traversable, sensory environment.
The room, already dominated by Andrea Appiani’s neoclassical fresco devoted to Apollo and the Muses, is reinterpreted through a constructed intervention that alters perceptions of architecture, time and proportion.
According to the artist, the work avoids literal answers and instead seeks an instinctive reaction that opens new visions. The structure may evoke familiar shapes — house, gazebo, cage, carousel — while resisting a single, definitive reading.
Parnassus invites visitors to engage with the spatial and perceptual qualities of the room: each passage through the installation produces different interpretations and reshapes the relationship between artwork, viewer and the historic setting.
Practical tip: the installation is situated within a historic gallery space; check GAM’s opening hours before planning your visit. The project suits visitors interested in immersive experiences and works exploring the dialogue between architecture and perception.
