Brand Eolie: “We Host the World” — the Aeolian Islands open up

When: 15–17 May 2026. Where: Lipari, Salina and Vulcano.

The Aeolian Islands are hosting a coordinated promotion initiative aimed at showcasing the UNESCO-recognised natural and cultural heritage of the archipelago. The project focuses on identity, local memory and culinary traditions and is addressed to national and international journalists.

Main goals:

• Showcase the archipelago's outstanding natural and cultural value;
• Promote experiential tourism and reduce seasonality;
• Build cooperation among local stakeholders — restaurants, hotels, wineries, farms and maritime carriers — for integrated promotion.

The event will involve numerous media representatives: around 18 international journalists and about 15 national outlets, along with television crews. Activities include thematic visits, tastings and guided tours to highlight traditions, local products and landscapes.

Sample programme:

• Guided visits to emblematic sites and briefings on the UNESCO inscription;
• Food and wine experiences with local producers;
• Workshops with local operators on marketing strategies and sustainable development.

Coordinated by Brand Eolie, the initiative aims to convert media visibility into sustainable tourist flows, extending the season and supporting the local economy based on high-quality tourism.
