Río Verde Waterfalls: a dive into enchantment

Autore: Redazione 13/09/2025 10:27

In the quiet village of Borrello hides one of the most exciting and authentic natural spectacles in Abruzzo. We are talking about the Río Verde Waterfalls, which captivate every visitor at first glance.

There are three scenic drops, and the crystalline water of the stream creates a thrilling effect in the air. Standing over 200 meters tall, they paint rainbows in the air as they plunge into the void. The natural symphony created as the water falls onto the rocky canyon offers an almost primordial atmosphere.

The trail to reach them is an experience in itself. It is a moderately difficult trekking route that offers breathtaking panoramic views, and every turn transforms the walk into a refreshing stroll and a journey into nature. This path culminates with the appearance of the waterfalls in an ascending climax of pleasure.

In summer, the reasons to visit always increase. In fact, this natural jewel is ideal for cooling off, becoming a natural refuge from the heat. The seasons paint the waterfalls with ever-changing colors. In autumn, the surrounding foliage creates a golden frame, while in winter, the landscape becomes a cathedral of ice.

The surrounding territory offers a complete experience for those looking for more, with typical local products and thousand-year-old traditions. The Río Verde Waterfalls are not just a destination but a starting point for discovering an authentic and marvelous Abruzzo. Visit them and you won't regret it!
