Lake Piediluco: the romantic heart of Umbria

Autore: Redazione 31/08/2025 10:30

Lake Piediluco is an enchanting body of water situated on the border between Umbria and Lazio, surrounded by green hills and picturesque villages. It is located just a few kilometers from the famous Marmore Waterfalls and, with its irregular shape, resembles a small fjord.

Its clear waters reflect the colors of the sky, providing postcard-perfect scenery. It also lies at the foot of the village of Piediluco, which gives the lake its name, lending an authentic atmosphere. Its narrow streets, which lead to the colorful houses of fishermen and small restaurants overlooking the water, offer the chance for a quick pit stop in the village. You can also embark from the village of Piediluco for a scenic boat tour, reaching the Montagna dell'Eco (Mountain of the Echo), famous for returning words with crispness and clarity.

Lake Piediluco is also, and above all, about sport and tradition. In fact, it hosts important national and international rowing competitions every year. Its calm waters are perfect for these types of events. Other events, such as the Festa delle Acque (Festival of the Waters), are celebrated with allegorical boats and shows. It is a corner of Umbria waiting to be discovered, perfect for a relaxing trip that invites you to stroll along the shore, ideal for those seeking a romantic and timeless atmosphere.
