Lago Blu: the enchanted mirror of the Matterhorn

Autore: Redazione 31/08/2025 14:53

Just a short walk from Breuil-Cervinia, there's an alpine wonder at 1,900 meters above sea level. We're talking about Lago Blu (Blue Lake), one of the most evocative natural gems of the Aosta Valley, whose waters reflect the Matterhorn (Monte Cervino), which dominates the horizon and provides postcard-perfect views.

The name is symbolic of what the lake represents. The waters are pure and rich in minerals, taking on shades that range from deep azure to emerald green. A fairy-tale landscape stretches around the lake.

Lago Blu is not just a place to admire, but also an ideal destination for a relaxing walk. From the center of Breuil-Cervinia, trails and short excursions suitable for everyone, including families with children, begin.

In summer, the lake is colored with vibrant reflections, ideal for a swim, while in autumn, the golden frame of the larches becomes a marvelous painting.

Legends and myths revolve around the lake. It is said that the waters of Lago Blu are enchanted and guarded by benevolent spirits who protect the valley. The magnetic charm that the lake offers, myths and legends aside, is undeniable. Visiting it means living a simply unforgettable experience.
