The renowned Pietà by Giovanni Bellini, recently conserved through a major restoration, is returning to Rimini following a loan to the Morgan Library & Museum in New York. The painting, part of the Museo della Città di Rimini collection, will be the centerpiece of a new exhibition in June 2026.
The exhibition emphasizes a dialogue between two leading figures of the Italian Renaissance: Bellini and his brother-in-law Andrea Mantegna. Visitors will see the Pietà placed in a comparative context with related works to highlight thematic and technical connections.
