Hidden among dizzying silence, in the wildest heart of the Portofino promontory, the Grotta dell'Arma opens up. This place offers unparalleled views of the Golfo Paradiso (Paradise Gulf). A scenic walk winds from the church of San Rocco di Camogli, leading directly to the Grotta dell'Arma.
In about 20 minutes, you reach the entrance of the Cave, which is a large cavity formerly inhabited by Homo Sapiens, as demonstrated by important archaeological finds.
Walking inside the Cave means exploring history. Looking at and touching the walls means going back in time. But that's not all. Upon arriving at the exit, the immense blue of the gulf opens up before you, offering a breathtaking panorama. The Cave is hosted by the Mount of Portofino, which is also a paradise for hikers. It is a highly recommended place, the meeting point between archaeology and beauty, for those seeking an experience rich in history, but also natural beauty.
We recommend visiting in spring and early autumn, as the trails are quieter and the light is more natural. This little secret of Liguria, away from mass tourism, must be carefully guarded.
