The City of Children and Youth – learning through play, with the five senseS

Autore: Redazione 29/08/2025 14:06

In the heart of Genoa, there’s a place where learning feels like a game and curiosity is your ticket in. It’s the City of Children and Youth, completely renovated in 2022 and now more engaging than ever. Across more than 2,000 square meters, the space unfolds as a journey through the five senses — sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste — helping little explorers discover themselves and the world around them.

Areas designed for every age

Here, every age group has its own dedicated space. For the youngest visitors (ages 2–4), there are soft and safe areas where they can take their first steps among age-appropriate games and activities. Older children can experiment with science exhibits, interactive installations, and creative workshops. The colorful, light-filled environment makes everything stimulating and fun. Families can also enjoy relaxation areas, a nursery, a shop, a snack bar, and even a party room for special occasions.

A curiosity-driven path

There are no fixed routes or time limits: every child is free to explore as they wish. Some run to the tech stations, others stop to observe natural phenomena, while some dive straight into hands-on challenges. Every visit is unique, guided by each child’s own interests and imagination.

Sustainable fun

Environmental awareness is also part of the experience. The facility uses a trigeneration system that produces energy and recovers heat, reducing consumption and environmental impact — a sustainable approach that perfectly reflects the philosophy behind the project.

Opening hours and tickets

The City of Children and Youth is open year-round, with schedules varying by season. Tickets cost €7 for toddlers, €10 for reduced fares, and €12 for adults and children aged 4–12. Special group and school rates are available. On weekends and during school holidays, advance booking is recommended to avoid waiting times.
