Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson reunite onstage to celebrate 50 years of music and honor the legacy of Neil Peart
After a 13-year absence from European stages, Rush are heading back across the Atlantic. The legendary Canadian trio, now anchored by co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, have announced the “Fifty Something Tour,” a 24-date run across 13 countries in 2027 that will celebrate five decades of boundary-pushing rock and pay tribute to the late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.
Among the stops: a single Italian date on March 30, 2027, at Milan’s Unipol Dome, the band’s first performance in the country since 2013.
With more than 45 million albums sold worldwide and seven Grammy nominations, Rush carved out a singular place in rock history. Their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as Canada’s Music Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame, cemented what fans already knew: few bands have matched their technical prowess, narrative ambition and staying power.
From the dystopian sweep of 2112 to the radio-defining precision of Moving Pictures, Rush built a body of work that bridged progressive complexity and arena-scale immediacy. Their songs philosophical, intricate and fiercely melodic, became rites of passage for musicians and fans alike.
The “Fifty Something Tour” will be presented as “An Evening With”, no opening act, two full sets each night and a rotating selection drawn from a repertoire of more than 40 songs. The band promises that no two shows will be identical, with different deep cuts and fan favorites surfacing from city to city.
Joining Lee and Lifeson on the road will be acclaimed German drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold (The Who, Roger Daltrey), expanding the live sound while honoring the spirit of the original trio.

In a statement, Lee reflected on the long-awaited return:
“We’re really looking forward to getting back to all these cities we haven’t played in so long, as well as visiting some new places we’ve never been before. Alex and I have been loving the hours we’re spending rehearsing with Anika - and now Loren - learning about 40 songs that will allow us to evolve the shows, playing different pieces on different nights. We’re thrilled that many of our longtime crew members have returned to help us design the kind of Rush show our fans expect. We truly hope you’ll join us and help celebrate 50 years of Rush music, giving Neil the tribute he so richly deserves.”
More than a comeback, the tour is positioned as both celebration and remembrance, a live chronicle of a band whose music continues to resonate long after its last note was played together.
Rush will perform in Milan on March 30, 2027, at the Unipol Dome, marking their only Italian appearance on the tour. Tickets are available now via exclusive presale through Vivaticket. The show will follow the band’s “An Evening With” format, featuring two full sets and a dynamically changing setlist. Additional details regarding doors and event timing can be found through official ticketing channels. After more than a decade away, Rush’s return to Europe is shaping up to be one of 2027’s most anticipated live rock events.
