It’s Happening Again — Adrian Tranquilli (solo show)

Where: Museo di Roma at Palazzo Braschi, Piazza San Pantaleo 10 / Piazza Navona 2, Rome.

When: 11 April–24 May 2026. Opening: Friday 10 April, 6:00 PM.

It’s Happening Again presents three newly produced installations — My Little White Book (2026), Endsong (2025) and In Excelsis 6 (2024) — that summarise thirty years of Adrian Tranquilli’s research. The exhibition draws on art, music, literature and cultural anthropology to investigate emblematic figures of the collective imagination, focusing on the antihero embodied by the Joker.

The works juxtapose precarious materials such as playing cards with forms that evoke monumentality and cinematic references, prompting a reflection on collapsing structures of power and historical narratives. Music, a fundamental element in Tranquilli’s practice, is central to the exhibition experience.

The show is accompanied by a critical essay by Benedetta Casini.
