Anime di Cristallo on display at Rivafiorita

Anime di Cristallo is a two-year research project by artist Silvia Mariotti, on view from April 4 to May 15, 2026 at Rivafiorita in Porto San Giorgio (FM). The installation originated from a residency in the Azores and examines how natural environments transform when they interact with artificial materials.

Themes and artistic approach

Using sculptures, treated materials and photographs, Mariotti reconstructs hybrid ecosystems where organic and inorganic elements merge, imagining intermediate life forms. The project questions human impact on natural systems and highlights matter's surprising adaptive responses.

Origins and exhibition history

The work stems from field research carried out in the Azores, where the artist collected botanical samples and inorganic materials. Portions of the project have been shown in Portugal; the Rivafiorita presentation is part of a wider itinerary concluding with a summer exhibition at MACTE — Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Termoli.

Related activities

Alongside the solo show, a workshop led by the artist is scheduled to explore techniques and concepts central to the project.
