Milano Art Week 2026: overview

From 13 to 19 April 2026, Milan hosts Milano Art Week, a week of openings, installations and experimental projects taking place in museums, galleries, artist studios and independent venues. The event highlights the intersection of contemporary practices, design and new technologies.

Highlights: exhibitions and projects

  • Museo del Novecento – Four projects presenting the museum in transition: a Bruno Munari focus, updates to the contemporary collection, and a video work by Diego Marcon (9–19 April).
  • FineSettimana – Thomas Zangaro Studio (14–19 April) – The studio becomes a temporary lab for art, design and AI, featuring works like Flos Aliena and the experiential photo booth Mnemo.
  • Tikkun Olam – Tobia Ravà (from 15 April) – A solo show using Hebrew letters and numeric symbolism across diverse materials and techniques.
  • MADE OF ENERGY – Enel goes pop by TOILETPAPER (14–19 April) – A free exhibition that reimagines energy through bold, pop-surreal imagery.
  • Distributed exhibitions – Sculptural shows, photographic displays and performances in commercial galleries and private spaces, often with evening events.

Why attend

Milano Art Week is a prime moment to spot contemporary trends, meet emerging artists and experience projects that merge creativity and technology. Many initiatives offer free access or include talks and workshops.

Practical tips

  • Plan visits in advance for popular shows; some venues recommend booking.
  • Check opening hours and evening programs; several galleries extend their hours during the week.
  • Use thematic routes to move efficiently across neighborhoods: key concentrations are in the city centre, Brera, Città Studi, BASE and other creative hubs.
