Marinella Senatore. Festa!

The solo show Festa! by Marinella Senatore (b. 1977) converts Mazzoleni Arte into an immersive installation of textiles, drawings and newly exhibited tapestries. The artist explores landscape and the theatrical apparatus of public celebrations, referencing baroque draperies and stage backdrops.

For this exhibition Senatore produced a body of textile works employing varied embroidery techniques and textile appliqués. The project followed a participatory approach involving the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai: 42 skilled craftswomen hand-wove and embroidered the tapestries, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
