Isola Verde AcquaPark – the water park of Pontecagnano

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 13:54

We are in Pontecagnano, in the heart of the Piana del Sele. Just a short distance from the sea, for 40 years there has been a place loved and appreciated especially by children: Isola Verde Acquapark, one of the most modern water parks in Southern Italy.

But before becoming what we know today, Isola Verde was a campground, a peaceful retreat where tranquility reigned supreme. It was here, across about 70,000 square meters of flat land, that — slide after slide — the fantastic water park took shape, filled with one attraction after another.

From the 1980s to today: the evolution of a watery dream

In the 1980s came the real turning point: the most modern slides of the time appeared in the campground, becoming symbols of a new era. The 1990s saw the birth of the park’s first “legends,” such as the Multipista Slide, where entire generations have raced every summer, and the Lazy River, perfect for drifting along with the current in total relaxation.

The story continues with attractions for the little ones: the Enchanted Castle, the legendary Mushroom with intertwined slides, and Queva, a themed area for children where imagination meets safety among baby pools and water games.

But Isola Verde also knows how to get your adrenaline pumping: the Black Hole and Black Cannon are designed for those unafraid of darkness and speed. And then there’s the Volcano, for those who love jungle-style settings and log slides with surprises around every corner.
