Giro d'Italia returns to Naples with the Paestum–Naples stage

On 14 May 2026 the sixth stage of the 109th Giro d'Italia will link the ancient temples of Paestum with central Naples, covering 141 km and finishing at Piazza del Plebiscito in front of the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola.

The event goes beyond sport: the arrival in Naples will serve as an international showcase for the metropolitan area's cultural and historical heritage, bringing attention to well-known landmarks and lesser-known sites of interest.

• Route: from Paestum through the Nolano area and surrounding towns, entering Naples via San Pietro a Patierno.
• Infrastructure works: the Metropolitan City has allocated €2.2 million for improvements on municipal roads to ensure safe conditions for the riders.
• Side events: GiroLand in Piazza Municipio and various cultural and social initiatives promoted by municipalities and local associations.
• Visibility: the race offers significant global exposure, supporting tourism and territorial promotion.

The stage is an opportunity to combine sport with heritage conservation and cultural promotion, highlighting sites such as the temples of Paestum, the early-Christian basilicas of Cimitile and the historic scenery of Naples' city centre.
