Giro d'Italia lights up Alessandria: two days to showcase the territory

Alessandria province is turning the Giro d'Italia 2026 presence into a broader cultural and tourism project. Local authorities and operators have outlined a program linking sport, gastronomy, history and cycle tourism across the area.

The region will host an arrival of the Imperia–Novi Ligure stage on 21 May and the start of the Alessandria–Verbania stage on 22 May. Around these dates, towns and villages will offer events in historic centres, urban rides, gravel races and family activities.

• Goal: attract both Giro fans and cycle tourists by promoting routes through hills, vineyards and small towns.
• Planned activities: bikepacking routes, local produce markets, visits to cycling museums celebrating champions such as Girardengo and Coppi.
• Legacy: strengthen infrastructure and tourism offerings tied to sustainable mobility.
