The Festival of the Apennines – Inclusive of Nature returns for 2026, running from 3 May to 31 October with a series of events spread across 28 municipalities in four regions: Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio and Umbria. This edition is closely tied to the tenth anniversary of the 2016 earthquake and aims to support cultural, social and tourism-led regeneration in inland areas.
The festival was officially presented at the “Sala Spadolini” of the Ministry of Culture in Rome, with institutional representatives and local mayors attending.
The opening takes place on Sunday 3 May in Amatrice, combining a scenic hike and a live show. Meet-up for the hike is at 14:45 in front of the “Il Triangolo” shopping centre (parking available); departure at 15:00. The programme continues with “Rispetto Tour – the roots of the future” by Federico Quaranta, featuring Samuele Giacomozzi and Fabia Salvucci — a poetic musical reflection on memory and identity.
Organisers suggest arriving in the morning to enjoy the food and wine experiences offered at Amatrice’s Polo del Gusto. Beyond a calendar of events, the Festival aims to be a coordinated promotion and communication effort to highlight local excellence and support the revival of central Apennine communities.
