The Biopark Just a Stone’s Throw from Palermo

Autore: Redazione 31/08/2025 16:15

In Carini, just a few kilometers from Palermo, lies one of Sicily’s most beloved family destinations: the Bioparco di Sicilia, a zoological garden that hosts over 60 animal species from all around the world.

The Mission

The park was created with a clear goal in mind — to educate visitors about respect for nature and animals, offering the chance to observe fascinating creatures up close and learn about their habits and characteristics. From lemurs to kangaroos, birds of prey to reptiles, every habitat is carefully recreated to respect the animals’ natural needs.

Not Just a Biopark!

Alongside its zoological area, the Biopark features a section especially loved by children: the Educational Farm, where goats, donkeys, and other domestic animals can be approached and fed, offering moments of interaction and learning.

The real surprise, however, is the Land of Dinosaurs — a themed area faithfully recreating a prehistoric environment with life-sized dinosaur models. It’s a perfect bridge between past and present, enriching the visit with an exciting and educational twist.

Services

With its facilities, picnic areas, green spaces, and refreshment points, the Bioparco di Sicilia stands out as one of the most complete destinations for those seeking an educational yet fun day out. It’s a place that speaks to both children and adults, combining the magic of the animal world with the wonders of natural history.

Opening Hours and Prices

The park is open daily from March to December, with varying hours depending on the season.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Full price: €13.50
