Gibellina hosts a distributed exhibition dedicated to the Prisenti, embroidered drapes offered during the festa del SS. Crocifisso, presenting a dialogue between local craft traditions and contemporary art.
Curated by Cristina Costanzo and Enzo Fiammetta, the show opens at the Museo delle Trame Mediterranee (Fondazione Orestiadi) and extends to other city venues, including the MAC “Ludovico Corrao”, Belìce/EpiCentro della Memoria Viva and the Chiesa Madre.
The exhibition traces the Prisenti’s history from the 18th to the 21st century, showing how the ritual evolved into a unique artistic workshop after its revival in the 1980s led by Ludovico Corrao. The collection, previously shown at the Venice Biennale in 1993 and in a major Palermo exhibition in 2016–17, is now on full display again.
For visiting hours and practical details, consult the municipal museum system. Admission and visiting conditions follow the official indications of the hosting venues.
