Giugno Locrese 2026: call open for the national poetry contest

The call for the 57th edition of the Giugno Locrese national poetry contest and literary prize has been published. The initiative promotes contemporary poetry and takes place in Locri.

Key information:

• Scope: poetry books (paper or e-book) with ISBN, published from 1 January 2023 onward.
• Who can enter: adult authors, Italian or foreign, residing and/or domiciled in Italy; one title per author. Works previously awarded in past editions are excluded.
• Submission deadline: entries must arrive no later than 30 April 2026, following the procedures indicated in the official call.
• Prize: the winner will receive €800.00, a plaque and a certificate with motivation. The awards ceremony will be held on 27 June 2026 at the Corte del Palazzo di Città.
• Educational activities: the “Premio Commisso” is presented as a laboratory project titled “A Nosside – Contemporary poetic voice”, a didactic and experiential path led by poet Daniel Cundari, scheduled between May and June 2026 in local schools and the municipal library (free participation).
• Additional honors: the “Premio Umberto Ferraro” and the “Città di Locri” recognition will also be awarded during the ceremony to figures distinguished for their cultural and social contributions.
