Giovanni Antonio Bazzi 'Sodoma' — Conquering the Renaissance

The Accorsi-Ometto Foundation presents a focused exhibition on Giovanni Antonio Bazzi, known as Sodoma, highlighting his formative production and the intense artistic exchanges between Piedmont and central Italy at the turn of the Renaissance. The display includes more than fifty works, some presented for the first time or rarely loaned, from important public institutions and private collections.

Curators: Serena D’Italia, Luca Mana, Vittorio Natale. Scientific committee of specialists in the field.

Exhibition highlights:

  • Early workshop pieces showing influences from Giovanni Martino Spanzotti.
  • Sienese fresco cycles including Sant'Anna in Camprena (1503–1504) and the Monteoliveto cloister (1505–1508).
  • Roman episodes supported by patron Agostino Chigi, and comparisons with contemporaries.
  • Masterpieces on loan from institutions such as Pinacoteca di Brera, Galleria Borghese, the Vatican Museums and the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena.

  • Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 10:00 - 19:00
  • Monday: closed
  • Tickets desk closes 30 minutes before museum closing time.

  • Reduced: €12.00 (ages 19–26; over 65)
  • Reduced: €10.00 (ages 11–18; agreements)
  • Teachers reduced: €6.00
  • Free: up to 10 years; holders of Museum Pass and Torino+Piemonte Card; ICOM members; people with disabilities + 1 companion; accredited journalists
