Dates: until 13 September 2026 • Venue: Museion, Bolzano. The exhibition highlights Vaccari’s environments — works designed to come alive through the presence of visitors.
Franco Vaccari (Modena, 1936–2025) is a key figure of Italian conceptual art. Trained in the sciences, from the 1960s he developed exhibition formats that privilege lived experience and interaction: often temporary or reactivatable installations whose meaning is produced through public engagement.
The Museion presentation is organized into thematic sections that investigate memory, language and human traces. Highlights include works such as La Scultura buia (1968), the Esposizione in tempo reale series and projects like Photomatic d’Italia (1972–75). The exhibition design by Fosbury Architecture prioritizes reactive environments and sensory participation.
Several pieces come from the Archivio di Nuova Scrittura, donated to the museum in 2020, documenting the continuity of Vaccari’s research from early experiments to later developments.

Visiting tips: allocate time to move through the spaces and engage with works that require activation. Some installations are temporary or periodically reactivated — consult the museum calendar before your visit.
