As part of Padua Climate Action Week, the museum-installation GEA 2076 – Memories from the Future will be on show at Golena San Massimo. The artistic project stages, through an exaggerated narrative device, the impacts of climate change and the social and political responsibilities behind them.
Created by artist Alessandro Calizza for Greenpeace Italy, the installation features an accessible, interactive route divided into three thematic areas: causes, impacts and possible solutions. The aim is to translate complex data and scenarios into sensory experiences that prompt reflection and action.
GEA 2076 works like a narrative time machine: visitors are projected fifty years ahead to experience how current inaction and profit-driven choices could lead to dystopian outcomes. The exhibition combines visual, installation and informational elements to communicate the urgency of issues such as extreme weather events and hydrogeological risk.
The show is suitable for a broad audience: citizens concerned about environmental issues, students, activists and contemporary art enthusiasts looking for an experiential approach to climate topics.
