Brun Fine Art stages an exhibition devoted to Corrado Cagli, focusing on his investigation of the "fourth dimension" and its conversation with contemporary design. The show pairs paintings and sculptures from the 1950s–60s with stone objects by ABI, offering a refreshed interpretation of the artist’s work.
The exhibition emphasizes Cagli’s refusal of strict classification in favor of hybrid forms and representation beyond the purely visible. Highlights include the experimental "Carte" (1958–59), which mimic crumpled sheets, stainless-steel works such as La gabbia (Uccello in gabbia) (1968), and a fragile cardboard "mask" remade in Assuan limestone through a collaboration with Marmomil.
The transformation of the mask from ephemeral material to solid limestone highlights the tension between fragility and permanence in Cagli’s practice and creates a direct encounter with ABI’s contemporary stone design.
The project is presented as a timely reconsideration rather than a retrospective: placing historical pieces alongside modern creations demonstrates how the coexistence of genres is central to modernity. During Milan Design Week, Brun Fine Art will extend the initiative to the Fuorisalone and the Salone del Mobile (16–26 April) with site-specific presentations across the city.
