Turandot, "Divine Beauty" at Puccini Museum Casa Natale

To mark the 100th anniversary of Turandot's premiere (25 April 1926), Puccini Museum Casa Natale hosts the exhibition "Turandot, Divine Beauty" from 24 April to 1 November 2026. The show explores the staging history of Puccini's unfinished masterpiece through period images and original documents.

The exhibition occupies several museum rooms and guides visitors with stage photographs, contemporary press accounts and archival material that recreate the atmosphere of the La Scala premiere conducted by Arturo Toscanini.

  • Highlights: two historic costumes worn at the 1926 premiere, restored by the Museo del Tessuto di Prato; original sketches by Galileo Chini; fashion plates by Umberto Brunelleschi; the second-act gown donated by Maria Jeritza.
  • Curators and partners: curated by Simonetta Bigongiari (museum director) and Daniela Degl'Innocenti (conservator, Museo del Tessuto). Organized with the Museo del Tessuto di Prato and the Fondazione Giacomo Puccini.
  • Program context: the exhibition is included in the "I musei del Sorriso" festival calendar promoted by the Lucca provincial museum network.

The exhibition is open during regular museum hours. Every Saturday and on the third Sunday of each month, the admission ticket includes a guided tour led by museum staff.

  • Dates: 24/04/2026 - 01/11/2026
  • Venue: Puccini Museum Casa Natale, Lucca, Italy
  • Info & bookings: tel. +39 0583 1900379 – email [email protected] – website www.puccinimuseum.org
