Gadaleta donates twelve works to the Diocesan Museum of Molfetta

Italian artist Ignazio Gadaleta, noted for his aniconic painting and later environmental art, has donated twelve works from the exhibition Infinite Prayer to the Fondazione Museo Diocesano in Molfetta. The donation increases the museum’s permanent holdings and strengthens the artist’s ties with the diocesan community.

The exhibition has been extended to May 31 and is accompanied by a publication from Silvana Editoriale, which further documents the works on display and additional pieces by the artist.

What to see and why it matters

  • The donation consists of twelve selected works from the Infinite Prayer series, reflecting Gadaleta’s chromatic and poetic research.
  • The exhibition features 23 works spanning 1979–2021, giving a historical overview of his production.
  • Gadaleta explained the donation as a tribute to Venerable Bishop don Tonino Bello and as a contribution to the cultural heritage of the diocese.
