Frasassi Avventura – Fun and Nature in the Heart of the Marche

Autore: Redazione 29/08/2025 18:11

Nestled in the lush greenery of the Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi Regional Natural Park, Frasassi Avventura is an outdoor paradise that blends adrenaline and adventure with breathtaking natural beauty. Perfect for both adults and children — especially for the brave — the park challenges visitors with Tibetan bridges, suspended passages, and tree-top trails surrounded by forest and river views.

Opening Hours 2025

The park will be open from June 11 to September 15, 2025, with the following schedule:

  • June 11 – July 1: Monday–Thursday afternoons only (2:30–7:30 p.m., last entry 6:30 p.m.); Friday–Sunday open all day (10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., last entry 6:30 p.m.)
  • July 1 – September 15: daily opening, morning 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. (last entry 12:30 p.m.) and afternoon 3:00–8:00 p.m. (last entry 7:00 p.m.)

Adventure Courses

Frasassi Avventura offers five tree-top routes designed for different ages and skill levels:

  • White – Hedgehog: for the youngest adventurers (ages 3+, min. height 80 cm). Platforms no higher than 50 cm; parents can follow from the ground.
  • Violet, Yellow, and Orange – Squirrel & Wolf: progressive difficulty for children (ages 4+, 100–130 cm tall), set near the river but never crossing it, with heights up to 1.5 m.
  • Green – Wolf/Eagle: for kids ages 9+ (min. height 130 cm). Medium difficulty, about 3 m above ground, along one bank of the Sentino River.
  • Blue – Eagle: for beginners among the “Eagles” (min. height 140 cm). Medium-level route introducing zip lines and rope crossings, without crossing the river.
  • Red & Black – Eagle: the most challenging routes, for those eager to test endurance and agility. About 4.5 m high, these trails cross the Sentino River with Tibetan bridges, steel cables, and spectacular zip lines.

Entrance to the park area is free; visitors pay only for course access and equipment use.

  • Hedgehog, Squirrel & Wolf routes: €15 for 2 hours
  • Eagle routes (Green, Blue, Red, Black): €20 for 2 hours

Equipment and Safety

Safety is a top priority: each visitor receives a full equipment kit — harness, lanyards, carabiners, pulleys, and helmet. Gloves (recommended for handling steel cables) can be purchased on-site.

All routes feature a continuous lifeline system, preventing detachment of carabiners until the end of the course. Before starting, participants attend a mandatory safety briefing, after which they can move independently under the supervision of staff.

Requirements and Practical Tips

  • Wear closed shoes (trekking or sport type)
  • Tie back long hair and remove dangling jewelry
  • Leave bags and backpacks on the ground
  • Provide one ID per family/group as a deposit for equipment
Minors must be accompanied by an adult, who can stay on the ground during the activity.

How to Get There

Frasassi Avventura is located in San Vittore delle Chiuse, Genga (Ancona province). Access is from the San Vittore square, between the Romanesque abbey and the ancient bridge, or via the wooden stairs from the gravel parking lot at the entrance of the village (bus access available).

  • By car: From Ancona – A14 exit Ancona Nord, then SS76 toward Rome, exit Genga–Grotte di Frasassi. From Rome – take Spoleto–Foligno–Fabriano, then superstrada to Ancona, exit Genga.
  • By train: Line Ancona–Rome, station Genga San Vittore Terme. The park is a 15-minute walk from the station. Visitors arriving by train receive a ticket discount by showing a ticket to Genga–San Vittore Terme dated within the last three days.
