Fondazione Molise Cultura backs ‘Suoni del Molise’ to promote intangible heritage

Fondazione Molise Cultura has joined the municipalities of Casacalenda, Larino and Civitacampomarano as technical partner of the project “Suoni del Molise – Sound Heritage Lab”, launched under an ANCI call on intergenerational exchange. The initiative aims to turn the region’s sound heritage — dialects, songs and oral memories — into cultural development and professional opportunities for people under 35.

President Antonella Presutti highlights the project’s capacity to combine memory and future prospects. The Foundation will provide expertise and technical support in documenting intangible cultural assets, with special focus on traditions linked to Molisan emigration.

• Ethnographic Sound Museum: an infrastructure to document and narrate the area’s sonic identity.
• “Echi del Molise” Festival: a cultural event to showcase local repertoires and sound heritage performances.
• Development of experiential cultural-tourism offers and training paths for under-35s.
• An expanded regional network including Agnone, Oratino, Roccamandolfi, Sant’Angelo del Pesco and Scapoli.

The initiative underscores culture as a common good and an economic lever for local communities, aiming to preserve and renew Molise’s identity through the engagement of new generations.
