Fly Line Catinaccio – Descent on a rope between the mountains

The Fly Line Catinaccio Rosengarten, located in Ciampedìe – Vigo di Fassa – is a unique path among the clouds, suspended in the forest. It stretches for 1,100 meters with a 190-meter drop in altitude, offering a silent descent through the woods. Participants are attached to a self-braking trolley running on steel tubes supported by trees, for a 6-minute panoramic “flight” at 12 km/h.

Age doesn’t matter much here. This cutting-edge structure in Ciampedìe allows everyone — adults and children weighing between 15 and 120 kg — to experience the thrill of free flight in the legendary forest of King Laurin.

Once you take off, six minutes of thrilling descent await, suspended among the trees and equipped with a comfortable harness. The route winds through the heart of the forest and was built without any invasive construction work, in full respect of the mountain environment and its ecosystem. The Fly Line is anchored to the trees using special wooden protections that safeguard their growth and integrity: no nails or bolts are inserted into the trunks, thus avoiding any damage or interference with the natural development of vegetation.

How to get there

From Vigo di Fassa: by the Vigo-Ciampedie cable car. The Fly Line is located 200 meters from the cable car’s upper station.

From Pera di Fassa: by the Vajolet 1 + Vajolet 2 + Pian Pecei-Ciampedie chairlifts. The Fly Line is located at the arrival of the third chairlift.

On foot: from Vigo di Fassa via trail no. 544. Start from the village center following Strada de Piz. Walking time about 1 h 30 min (600 m ascent, from 1400 to 2000 m). Mountain footwear is required.
