Borghi della Laga Festival 2026: an itinerary through Apennine villages

From April to December 2026 the Borghi della Laga Festival returns with a dispersed programme that activates historic villages and rural centres across the Monti della Laga, Monti Gemelli, Alto Aterno and the Appennino Acquasantano. The initiative focuses on community life, combining cultural events with territorial care and civic participation activities.

What to expect

The festival features performances, talks, walking routes and educational projects designed to showcase local identities, cultural heritage and material and immaterial resources. The aim is to support social regeneration processes and accompany residents in reconstruction and relaunch efforts following recent seismic events.

Organisers and theme

Led by the association "Borghi e Sentieri della Laga OdV" in partnership with FederTrek and supported by around 20 municipalities and territorial bodies, this edition is united by the theme "Beyond the darkness of the quake: human value and cultural heritage in the enduring villages". The project is recognised as contributing to sustainable development goals and the 2030 Agenda.

Main dates

• National online press conference: Wednesday, April 8.
• Opening ceremony: Saturday, April 11 in Arischia, at the Administration of Separate Property (ADUC) in Piazza Duomo.
• Programme presentations: Rome (April 18), Ascoli Piceno (April 19), Teramo (May 2).
• Widespread programming: local events scheduled from April through December 2026 across participating villages.
