Edenlandia: the Neapolitan kingdom of fun

Autore: Redazione 01/08/2025 13:52

In the Fuorigrotta district of Naples stands one of the oldest theme parks in Europe: Edenlandia! As its name suggests, it’s a true Eden for children. Inaugurated on June 19, 1965 and inspired by Disneyland, it has enchanted generations of children for decades — and continues to do so — with its rides and fairytale atmosphere.

After a closure that began in 2013, Edenlandia experienced a rebirth thanks to the company New Edenlandia S.p.A., which, with an investment of over 8 million euros, managed to bring back to life a cherished piece of the city’s collective memory.

The reopening in 2018 restored Naples’ symbolic park, making it more modern while staying true to its original identity.

The park covers an area of over 40,000 square meters and is divided into seven themed areas: Kiddy, China Town, Pirates, West, Medieval, Sky Fly, and Fantasy. Each zone features detailed settings and attractions for all ages, from classic rides to technological innovations and food areas.

The biggest novelty of the new Edenlandia era is the free admission: visitors only pay for the rides using the Eden Card, which can also be recharged online.

From historic rides to new thrills

The nostalgic heart of Edenlandia still beats strong. Many of the historic attractions have been restored and relaunched: the cheerful Little Train, the mysterious Castle of Lord Sheidon, the spooky dark ride Il Maniero, the iconic Pirate Galleon, the funny House of Tricks, the romantic Log Flume, and the timeless Carousel.

Alongside these, the park has added several modern attractions designed for thrill-seekers: don’t miss the Ranger, a Viking ship that swings 360°; the bouncing Saltamontes; and the dizzying Dominator, a mechanical arm offering breathtaking views — and plenty of excitement!

For younger children, there’s a wide selection of colorful, age-appropriate attractions: Mini Bumper Cars, the Caterpillar roller coaster, the Happy Swing, and the fun Jumping Trampoline. Rounding out the experience are all-ages favorites such as the Ferris Wheel, prize games, and the Galdieri Kart Track, a 130-meter electric circuit where kids can feel like real racers.

Opening hours and practical tips

Edenlandia is open Monday to Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to midnight.

It’s recommended to buy or recharge your Eden Card online to avoid long lines at the ticket booths, especially on weekends. Before visiting, check the official website for seasonal schedules and possible temporary closures. Some attractions have age or height restrictions, so it’s best to check in advance.

How to get there

The park is located at Viale John Fitzgerald Kennedy 76, in the heart of Fuorigrotta, just a short walk from the Mostra d’Oltremare and the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Getting there is easy:

  • By train: take the Ferrovia Cumana and get off at the Edenlandia stop.
  • By metro (Line 2): stop at Campi Flegrei (Napoli Cavalleggeri d’Aosta).
  • By bus: several city bus lines serve the area.

Tickets and costs

Admission to the park is free. To access the rides, visitors must use the Eden Card, available in denominations starting from €10, with the possibility of earning promotional bonus credits.

Currently, tickets cannot be purchased through third-party platforms like Italia Parchi, but the card can be recharged directly on the official website or at the park’s ticket offices.
