Winners of the Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas: classical culture shines in Arpino

The 45th Certamen Ciceronianum Arpinas concluded with a well-attended award ceremony that once again made Arpino a hub for Latin studies and humanistic culture.

  • 1st Elia Gregorini – I.I.S. Statale “Parentucelli Arzelà” (Sarzana, Italy)
  • 2nd Maria Frosali – Istituto Paritario “Marsilio Ficino” (Figline e Incisa Valdarno, Italy)
  • 3rd Oscar Lin – Wilhelmsgymnasium (Munich, Germany)
  • 4th Leonardo Ginesti – Liceo “N. Turriziani” (Frosinone, Italy)

The competition theme, drawn from Cicero’s Tusculanae Disputationes, prompted reflections on life’s meaning and the balance between material ambition and intellectual growth, underscoring the enduring relevance of Ciceronian thought.

With participants from twelve European countries, the edition reaffirmed the Certamen’s role as an international forum for cultural exchange. Renato Rea, president of the Marco Tullio Cicerone Study Center, described the event as a cultural bridge that for 45 years has fostered dialogue, freedom and knowledge among young people and educators.
