Bassano del Grappa advances its bid for Italian Capital of Culture 2029

Bassano, 12 May 2026 – The city continues its campaign for the Italian Capital of Culture 2029, entering a new phase centered on local participation and engagement of younger generations.

Key upcoming steps include the first meeting of the Promoting Committee and the inaugural co-design workshop. In parallel, the TAG – Youth Agenda Table has been established as an advisory and proactive body for residents aged 18 to 27.

• 22 May 2026: first meeting of the Promoting Committee, bringing together representatives from institutions, cultural organizations, businesses and civil society.
• 23 May 2026: co-design workshop at the Sala Chilesotti of the Civic Museum, open to institutions, associations, schools and citizens.
• Formation of the TAG to involve young people in drafting the dossier and shaping the cultural programme; a public notice for selection will be published in the coming weeks.

The administration emphasizes that the candidacy is conceived as a shared process to enhance heritage and create new spaces for collective planning. Palazzo Bonaguro is identified as a priority venue for TAG activities.
