The city of Trieste has expanded its museum holdings following the donation by Sonja Polojaz and Giovanni Lokar. The collection, assembled over sixty years of acquisitions, is now permanently exhibited at the Civico Museo Sartorio in two specially redesigned rooms.
In recognition of this significant cultural contribution, the mayor presented the donors with the Sigillo Trecentesco, a civic honor marking the importance of the gift for the community.
The donation safeguards the collection's integrity and prevents dispersal, enhancing research opportunities and museum programming. The exhibition traces the development of European porcelain from Meissen's origins in 1709 through major Italian and Austrian productions of the 18th century.
The Museo Sartorio (Largo Papa Giovanni XXIII, 1) presents the Lokar collection on a permanent basis: the reconfigured rooms provide visitors with a historically informed and engaging display.
