Mario Schifano and Marco Tirelli Exhibitions at Palazzo Esposizioni

Autore: Redazione 27/03/2026 16:26

Mario Schifano and Marco Tirelli at Palazzo Esposizioni (Rome)

From 17 March to 12 July 2026 Palazzo Esposizioni presents two important painting exhibitions: a comprehensive retrospective on Mario Schifano and a large-scale installation by Marco Tirelli. Both projects offer a substantial view of Italian painting from the late twentieth century to the present.

Mario Schifano — exhibition overview

The Schifano exhibition is arranged chronologically and traces the artist's key phases: early material experiments, monochromes, photo-mediated iconographies, TV landscapes and later socially engaged works. The display occupies the rotunda and the main-floor galleries and is accompanied by photographic documentation and biographical materials.

Marco Tirelli — the painting-installation

Marco Tirelli presents a cohesive body of works conceived as a single painting-installation: individual panels integrate into a continuous visual ribbon that transforms the galleries into a "theatre of memory." The show interweaves visual memories, cinematic and literary fragments, and art-historical references to form a personal yet universal visual archive.
