From the Low Countries to Siena: new insights on Bernard van Rantwijck at Palazzo Chigi Piccolomini
As part of the Relazioni d’Arte 2026 – Studies around the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Siena series, a talk will focus on Bernard van Rantwijck, a Flemish painter active in the late 16th century and responsible for the elegant decorative cycle in the halls of Palazzo Chigi Piccolomini alla Postierla.

The lecture will present recent research that reconstructs both the artistic career and biographical profile of van Rantwijck, proposing fresh perspectives and addressing unresolved questions about the paintings preserved in the palace.
