Just a few kilometers from Padua lies a unique landscape in Italy: a group of reliefs of volcanic origin that suddenly rise from the Venetian plain. We are talking about the Colli Euganei (Euganean Hills), whose gentle shapes tell an ancient story of eruptions that shaped this territory.
In these hills, you can find evocative places like Arquà Petrarca, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, where the great poet Petrarca spent the last years of his life. Furthermore, other medieval villages, abbeys, and castles open up between the woods.
The landscape of the Euganean Hills is rich in biodiversity, featuring holm oak and chestnut groves, and numerous hiking and cycling trails allow visitors to enjoy spectacular panoramic views.
The Euganean thermal baths are famous and are another treasure of this area. They are among the oldest in Europe and have made thermal water locations like Abano and Montegrotto renowned. The Euganean Hills are also known for their fine wine production; in fact, the food and wine dimension is enormous. DOC labels like Fior d'Arancio are very famous.
Visiting the Euganean Hills means having a complete experience, encompassing nature, history, and art.
