Cavallino Matto: the Tuscan kingdom of fun for the whole family

We are in Tuscany, more precisely in Marina di Castagneto Carducci, home to Cavallino Matto, the largest amusement park in the region. Covering an area of 100,000 square meters and featuring 27 attractions, it is an unmissable destination for anyone seeking a complete day of fun and excitement — just a stone’s throw from the sea.

A world of attractions for all ages

Cavallino Matto isn’t just a park for children: it’s a mix of adrenaline, magic, and entertainment for the whole family. The main attractions include:

• Freestyle: a 32-meter-high roller coaster, perfect for thrill-seekers who love loops and drops.
• Project 1: a fast, exciting roller coaster with sharp turns and speed.
• Baia dei Bucanieri (Buccaneers’ Bay): a water adventure among pirates and cannon blasts.
• Safari Adventure: a journey through animatronic animals and jungle sounds.
• Yukatan, Topozorro, and the Mini Roller Coaster, perfect for younger visitors.
• 4D Cinema and live shows at the Teatro del Bosco, featuring acrobats, stunt performers, and international artists.
   

In total, four live shows bring the park to life every day, enhanced by eight dining spots scattered along themed pathways.

Prices and opening hours for summer 2025

Open from April to November, the park’s standard opening hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Special openings, such as Halloween events, may follow extended hours (e.g. 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.).

Ticket prices vary according to age, height, and time of entry:

• Full-day ticket (from 130 cm): €30 (online €28.50)
• Afternoon ticket: €23
• Reduced (from 100 to 129 cm, over 65, or companions of disabled guests): €23 (online €22.50), afternoon €21
• Pregnant women: €10
• Free admission: children under 100 cm, guests with severe disabilities (Law 104), permanently non-ambulatory adults, and blind visitors
• Armed forces and police: €23 full-day / €21 afternoon (available at the ticket office with ID card)

How to get there

Getting to Cavallino Matto is easy.

By car:

• From Genoa: take the motorway toward Grosseto–Rome, exit Donoratico.
• From Rome: take the Civitavecchia–Livorno highway, exit Donoratico.
• From Florence: A11 → A12 toward Grosseto–Rome, exit Donoratico.

By train:

Get off at Donoratico station, which is connected to the park by a shuttle service (line 006, Autolinee Toscane) running approximately every half hour, from 9:48 a.m. to 7:06 p.m.
