Riva Waterfalls: the hidden spectacle of the Aurina Valley

Autore: Redazione 30/08/2025 15:40

One of the most powerful and wild valleys in Trentino-Alto Adige is certainly the Aurina Valley (Valle Aurina), which holds a natural treasure within it that enchants anyone who reaches it: the Riva Waterfalls (Cascate di Riva). This is a complex of three imposing tiers of water nestled among majestic forests.

The route to get there is an adventure. Starting from Campo Tures, you follow a path immersed in greenery, with the sound of the water becoming increasingly thunderous. You will need to cross wooden bridges and scenic viewpoints, and stopping to admire the unspoiled nature is an experience that is spectacular in itself.

The first waterfall welcomes visitors with great power and is surrounded by rock walls. It falls from over 40 meters and creates a magical atmosphere. The Riva Waterfalls are not only a scenic location but also an oasis of peace, perfect for regenerative walks and for photographers and Instagrammers.

During the visit, it is also possible to continue along the Saint Francis Trail (Sentiero di San Francesco), which is a spiritual itinerary that attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. The Riva Waterfalls are thus a symbol of the power of the Dolomites, a place where water reigns over the landscape.
