The Cascate del Dardagna (Dardagna Waterfalls) are located in the Bolognese Apennines, hidden deep within the woods of the Alto Reno area. It's a natural jewel that unfolds in seven tiers of water, cascading over a drop of more than 200 meters.
The journey itself is an adventure and an integral part of the magic, as the trail winds along, accompanied by the constant, increasingly thunderous sound of the water. The main waterfall is about 30 meters high and is truly breathtaking.
The waters are clear and cold, plunging into a natural basin and creating sprays that will refresh you as you walk by. The Dardagna Waterfalls can be visited year-round, but we recommend visiting in spring or summer if you want to cool off. In winter, you'll find plenty of ice that transforms the falls into sculptures.
The Corno alle Scale Regional Park is the area the waterfalls belong to, offering endless possibilities for hikers in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
According to legend, the Dardagna stream was inhabited by water nymphs who guarded the purity of the place. Immersing yourself in a dimension suspended between reality and myth is only possible by walking along these trails. They are not just something to visit; they are an experience to live.
