Bugnara proposes a museum hub for the Most Beautiful Villages

Located in the Valle del Sagittario, Bugnara has submitted a proposal to become a cultural, documentary and museum center serving not only Abruzzo's villages but the entire "Borghi più Belli d'Italia" network. The initiative aims to enhance local heritage, strengthen cooperation among municipalities and provide tools to counter depopulation.

Participants:

  • Domenico Taglieri – Mayor of Bugnara
  • Antonietta Pace – Councillor for Culture
  • Delegates from Scanno (Giovanni Di Mastrogiovanni), Pacentro (Giuseppe Silvestri) and Casoli (Massimo Tiberini)
  • Antonio Di Marco – Regional President Abruzzo & Molise, Borghi più Belli d'Italia
  • Antonietta La Porta – Regional Councillor supporting internal-area policies
  • Claudio Bacilieri – Director of Borghi Magazine

Practical aims:

  • Establish shared archival and exhibition spaces for the village network;
  • Develop cultural routes and workshops targeting youth and visitors;
  • Link local museums such as the Museum of Popular Traditions and the Oil Museum into thematic itineraries;
  • Create institutional synergies at the regional level for services and sustainable tourism promotion.

The proposal is presented as a strategic move to strengthen territorial identity and support projects involving residents, associations and institutions. Bugnara is highlighted as a unique site with landscape and cultural potential, positioned as a reference point for the Valle Peligna and the regional network of villages.
