Guided tour: “This is how Italy is made. The image of the hero from Bistolfi to Baroni”

The exhibition presents sculptures and paintings illustrating how the heroic figure was depicted in Italian art from the early years of national unification to the post–World War I period. Works by artists such as Bistolfi, Eugenio Baroni, Gaetano Previati, Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, Plinio Nomellini, Libero Andreotti and Eliseo Sala are on display. The selection includes important pieces from the “Martelli-Bistolfi 2021/2023” donation, some recently restored and previously unseen.
