The exhibition devoted to Giovanni Segantini drew a notable audience to Bassano del Grappa: more than 108,000 visitors visited the city from October through February, with clear positive effects on the museum, hospitality and local commerce.
This successful show helped enhance the profile of the Museo Civico and the city’s cultural offer, while also increasing patronage at hotels, restaurants and shops in the historic centre.
According to the director of the Civic Museums, Barbara Guidi, the exhibition enhanced both collections and educational programmes. The head of the local traders association, Alberto Borriero, notes that the visitor influx provided a strong boost to local businesses, improving demand and territorial visibility.
Already named a Venetian City of Culture 2025, Bassano is now aiming for national recognition. The Segantini exhibition is being regarded as an example of effective cooperation between cultural institutions and the local economic fabric.
Practical tip for visitors: consider scheduling museum visits on weekdays or early in the morning for a quieter experience; many local businesses offered promotions and dedicated routes during the exhibition period.
