When: Sunday, 19 April 2026, 4:00 PM
Where: Museo Civico and Gipsoteca Bistolfi, Casale Monferrato
This guided visit continues the public programme for an exhibition that investigates how the figure of the hero was depicted from the early years of a unified Italy through the immediate post‑World War I period. The project is the result of a collaboration between the City, the local Rotary Club and the De Ferrari Foundation, supported by regional foundations and local sponsors.
The show juxtaposes sculpture and painting to highlight a stylistic shift toward a more classical, rhetorical language in commemorative art. Key figures include Eugenio Baroni and Leonardo Bistolfi, alongside other important Italian artists of the era.
Admission:
No reservation is required to attend the guided tour. For more information call the museum at +39 0142 444309 or +39 0142 444249, or email [email protected].
The exhibition is a practical opportunity to explore the evolving visual language that shaped Italian heroic imagery between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
