The bid promoted by the Municipality of Bardolino for the title of Italian Capital of Culture 2029 has entered a more operational and participatory phase. BardolinoHub, a collaborative laboratory coordinated by architect Daniela Cavallo, has been set up to bring together skills, local associations and institutions to prepare the application dossier.
The initiative is widening its support beyond the Province of Verona, gaining backing from municipalities and associations on several shores of Lake Garda, from Gardone Riviera to Riva del Garda and other localities that view the lake as a single territorial community. Mayor Daniele Bertasi emphasized that "the Garda is not a sum of separate territories, but a community sharing identity, history and prospects."
The operational phase relies on working groups and a Scientific Committee involving academics and experts. Priority areas for the dossier include housing quality, landscape enhancement, hospitality, preservation of traditions and the relationship between communities and identity.
Organizers stress the aim of building a collective candidature that can leave a lasting legacy for cultural development and improved quality of life around Lake Garda. In the coming months, technical tables and the committee will finalize the dossier to be submitted in the national selection phases.
