The inaugural edition of Pavia Innovation Week opened in Pavia, a free festival focused on scientific, technological and cultural innovation. Organized by local institutions, industry and the university, the festival turns the city into a living laboratory for students, families, businesses and the academic community.
The opening ceremony took place in the University of Pavia's Aula Magna with promoters and scientific directors in attendance. The program includes notable national and international figures, among them Nobel laureates and leading researchers.
The initiative aims to connect universities, companies and research centers to address topics ranging from health and technology ethics to education and the relationship between science and society.
The festival animates emblematic venues — from Teatro Fraschini to historic colleges — linking the city's scientific tradition with contemporary innovation. The program also introduces the Camillo Golgi Prize to recognize excellence in science communication.
Pavia Innovation Week is conceived as a lasting platform for dialogue: more than a showcase, it is a space for international exchange that seeks to make science understandable and shared. Many events are free and open to the public, with activities spread across multiple city locations.
