In Pescara the 'Amari Than' Project Begins: Endas Abruzzo Promotes Romanì Culture and Inclusion

Endas Abruzzo has launched "Amari Than: Romanì culture in the heart of Pescara," funded by UNAR and taking place within the third week of action to promote Romanì culture and counter anti-Romani discrimination (7–19 April 2026).

The initiative targets urban areas with greater social complexity and multicultural presence, engaging schools, associations and sports organizations to promote full social and cultural participation and to challenge stereotypes and exclusion.

Planned activities:

• school meetings and educational pathways involving at least 200 students from Aterno-Manthoné and Misticoni Bellisario institutes;
• language and cultural workshops to deepen authentic knowledge of Romanì traditions;
• inclusive sports activities, writing and music workshops, and digital storytelling;
• public sharing events to make project outcomes visible and foster community dialogue.

The project is implemented in partnership with Area Abruzzo Aps, Ahimsa Aps and Magnolia Sport e Cultura Asd. Endas emphasizes that the modular format is designed to create concrete opportunities for meeting, dialogue and local impact in terms of inclusion and participation.

Activities are organized by age and interest groups and seek to provide educational and cultural tools to counter prejudice and promote a more accurate, shared representation of Romanì culture.
