Siena launches the "Friends of Siena in the World" registry

The Municipality of Siena has approved the establishment of the "Friends of Siena in the World" registry, a permanent network for Italian and foreign residents abroad who wish to promote Siena’s image, culture and traditions.

Proposed by the municipal council and the councillor for cooperation and international relations, Giuseppe Giordano, the initiative aims to strengthen international ties and encourage shared projects between Siena and its dispersed communities worldwide.

• Purpose: to harness skills and ties to the territory to support cultural events, exchanges, educational initiatives and communication projects.
• Enrollment: the registry has no time limit; applicants must submit a CV, a statement of purpose and may include project proposals for promoting the city.
• Assessment: applications will be reviewed by the competent municipal office within 60 days of submission.

According to Councillor Giordano, the goal is to "build a lively and dynamic network of people who, even living far away, share a strong bond with our city." The administration emphasises that the registry is intended to turn dispersed energies and skills into tangible opportunities for visibility and collaboration.

Practical information on how to apply and selection criteria will be published by the Municipality’s international relations office; the registry could serve as a channel for promoting exhibitions, cultural routes, educational projects and digital initiatives aimed at national and international audiences.
