Anne de Carbuccia's Sergeant S.N.A.F.U. series brings to Venice a set of sculptures that embody the current crisis of information. The works turn language and media channels into weapons: the stylized soldiers hold microphones instead of conventional arms, symbolizing how communication can be used for power, manipulation and propaganda.
Produced with large-format 3D printing (FDM) and finished through a handcrafted chroming process, the figures play on the tension between harmlessness and threat. Their toy-like silhouettes create a sense of familiarity while emphasizing the militarization of speech. Reflective surfaces engage viewers by mirroring them, highlighting attention and perception as the battleground of information.
The series consists of four distinct models available in Green, Blue, Red, Silver and Gold; each work bears the inscription S.N.A.F.U. and some pieces include references to military equipment, underlining the parallel between wartime strategies and algorithm-driven amplification techniques.
For visitor times, access rules and ticketing, please check the gallery's official channels. The exhibition invites reflection—through visually striking sculptures—on how truth and collective understanding are negotiated within contemporary information flows.
